After five days of professional severe and objective work (08-12/8/2023), the survey officially accredited the quality of the educational institutions of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The accreditation process of HCM (HUTECH) closed on the afternoon of August 12th.

Representing HUTECH was Assos. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam - Vice Chairman of the School Board, Prof. D.Sc. Ho Dac Loc - Principal of the school; Dr. Bui Van The Vinh - Vice Principal, Assos. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Vice Principal, and Assos. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen - Vice Principal, unit leaders, and experts in charge of accreditation throughout the school.

At the closing session, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh presented the preliminary results of the official survey of the quality of the educational institutions. These comments were based on the work of the assessment team, gathered through activities such as researching and checking the accuracy and legitimacy of supporting documents; surveys and discussions with staff in charge of functional units; interviewing stakeholders inside and outside the school; actual on-site visits to the system of facilities for research and study.
Based on AUN-QA standards, the delegation made comments on the mission, vision, and strategy; on the administration and management system; on the human resources system; on the infrastructure; on financial resources; and on training activities, scientific research, and community service activities, which are various student support movements, that HUTECH has been trying to implement over the years. As a result of this thorough evaluation process, the delegation gave preliminary positive remarks about the progress that had been achieved by HUTECH. At the same time, the delegation pointed out some areas of weakness and proposed remedial steps to improve the quality of the administration and management system.

Prof. D.Sc. Ho Dac Loc, on behalf of HUTECH, received the assessment and practical recommendations from the assessment team and thanked them:“Thank you for your efforts to bring valid evaluation results and to share recommendations which will contribute to the strategic direction of the University. This assessment will be an opportunity for HUTECH to look back on its activities and affirm the successes, as well as set out a development strategy for the next 10 years.”

Prof. D.Sc. Ho Dac Loc expressed his thanks to the EPR team and acknowledged the evaluations and recommendations to help HUTECH further develop.
Speaking by way of a summary of the official survey results, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam said: “Through the working sessions between the EEA and the University, it can be seen that in recent years HUTECH has made great progress. The coordination between the units is also very rhythmic, methodical, orderly, and systematic. That shows the right direction of the leadership as well as the consensus of the faculty and staff. I believe this accreditation is an opportunity for the University to rethink its activities and prepare for a more sustainable development.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam highly praised the work of quality assurance and expressed the expectation that the University will continue to improve and develop further.
HUTECH and VNU-HCM CEA signed the minutes to complete the official survey program
At the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony, HUTECH, and VNU-HCM CEA also agreed upon and signed the Minutes of the completion of the survey program. The results obtained from the recent accreditation program will be an excellent foundation for the University for the purpose of the promotion of and further improvement of HUTECH. This report provides valuable input for furnishing a quality learning environment for students and for pursuing the aim of becoming a pillar in the training of high-quality human resources for society.
