On March 08, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) discussed with the Head of the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship Committee (Japan), concerning the content for collaboration and sponsorship for research activities of students. 
 

Representatives of the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship Committee included Mr. Akihiko Ikai - Former President of Tokyo Itabashi Central R.C Club, Head of Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship Committee and Ms. Vo Nu Truong Giang - Student Scholarship Consultant.

As representatives of HUTECH, there were Assoc. Dr. Thai Van Nam - Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies, Ms. Ho To Lien - Dean of Japanese Studies, Ms. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice Director of the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology, and Ms. Thai Minh Phuong - Vice Director of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology.

Assoc. Dr. Thai Van Nam and Mr. Akihiko Ikai thanked each other for their mutual contributions, assistance, and cooperation. Furthermore, Mr. Akihiko Ikai introduced Rotary Yoneyama, which is the largest scholarship fund of businesses with an annual amount of 1 billion yen. Qualified students are sponsored approximately 120,000 yen/month for undergraduate programs and 150,000 yen/month for postgraduate programs.
 

To shed light on the training programs of the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology, the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology, and the Faculty of Japanese Studies for the benefit of Mr. Akihiko Ikai, Ms. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Ms. Thai Minh Phuong, and Ms. Ho To Lien, respective representatives of each, introduced general information about training programs, research activities, and student joint-training programs of each Faculty/Institute.

During the discussion, Mr. Akihiko Ikai also awarded a scholarship worth 100,000 yen/year for 5 consecutive years to the research group of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai Van Nam. It is the hope of HUTECH that the university will receive continued support from Mr. Akihiko Ikai for the activities of HUTECH students.
