HUTECH 2024 Green Summer Campaign achieves great success in the provincial areas

Recently, Green Summer volunteers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) have concluded and reflected on the projects in the provincial areas.
After one month, the voluntary projects were completed and put into use. Let’s review the achievements in this year's campaign.
Multiple remarkable results were achieved during the Green Summer campaign in provincial areas
Ben Tre Province
The HUTECH 2024 Green Summer Campaign at Ben Tre took place in 02 communes Thanh Thoi A and Thanh Thoi B (Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province) with 80 volunteers. In the 03 weeks from July 15th to August 3rd, the volunteers carried out various meaningful projects and activities, bringing positive changes to the locality.
The 304-meter concrete projects in Thoi Hoa hamlet (Thanh Thoi A) and 560-meter concrete projects in Tan Vien hamlet (Thanh Thoi B) have significantly contributed to improving the quality of transport infrastructure.

Following is the construction of "National Flag Road" in An Trach Dong hamlet (Thanh Thoi A) with great significance, not only improving the regional landscape but also a symbol of pride and national unity. The volunteers were dedicated to completing all 03 projects on schedule and handed them over before July 27th.

Additionally, the volunteers have carried out multiple community activities such as giving 30 gratitude gifts to families under preferential treatment policy as well as Vietnamese Heroic mothers; and donating 04 water purifiers - to help improve the quality of domestic water and ensure the health of local inhabitants.
Activities in the campaign were also directed to local students, including giving 10 scholarships and 500 notebooks to primary school students and 08 bicycles to high school students in disadvantaged circumstances. These are meaningful gifts to support the local students in preparing for the new academic year.

HUTECH Green Summer volunteers in Ben Tre simultaneously carried out multiple youth programs during the campaign
Socio-cultural and educational activities were also focused on. Specifically, there were the admission ceremony of new Party members; the Cultural festival "HUTECH Imprint” to express gratitude to historic martyrs and supportive inhabitants during the campaign; children's days in 02 communes; and 06 voluntary classes at Thanh Thoi A2 Primary School and Le Thi Bieu Primary/Secondary School, etc.
Dong Thap Province
27 volunteers of the HUTECH 2024 Green Summer campaign were stationed in Binh Thanh commune (Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province) from July 15th to August 4th.
The volunteers collaborated with local inhabitants to concrete a 600-meter rural traffic road, serving over 20 households living along the road in Binh Hoa hamlet (Binh Thanh commune). After the inauguration on July 28th, this new road replaced the narrow and muddy road located next to the canal.

Furthermore, the volunteers have also put into use the key project of lighting up a 2-kilometer rural road connecting Binh Thanh commune and Binh Tan commune with 75 solar lamps. Continuing the national tradition of gratitude, HUTECH Green Summer volunteers visited and gave gifts to 05 families under preferential treatment policy in Binh Thanh commune.
On July 28th, the volunteers held a Children's Day at Binh Thanh Community Learning Cultural Center, at which children participated in multiple attractive games and gained many gifts. The steering committee also awarded 05 scholarships, 04 bicycles, 02 water purifiers, 250 notebooks, and 05 game booths for the local children.

Along with the key projects, HUTECH 2024 Green Summer volunteers also supported the locality in other meaningful activities such as: instructing inhabitants to install digital applications to monitor information and make online cashless payments; planting flowers on model routes; cleaning gravestone in Binh Thanh commune; participating in a candlelight ceremony to commemorate the Remembrance Day; conducted bonding sports activities, etc.
Sharing at the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Green Summer Campaign in Binh Thanh commune, volunteer Hoang Ngoc Minh Nguyen - a Member of the Steering Committee of HUTECH 2024 Green Summer Campaign at Dong Thap provincial area said: “Throughout the campaign, we have been created all the conditions to dedicate our youth, integrate into people's lives, try new experiences, learn valuable lessons, and mature day by day. When looking back on the past journey and the projects that have been put into operation, I am even more proud to be a part of HUTECH 2024 Green Summer, with other volunteers contributing a little of our strength to the country".
