President Ho Dac Loc emphasizes patriotism, compassion, and integrity at new academic year opening ceremony

Prof. DSc. Ho Dac Loc's speech at the 2024-2025 opening ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) on September 14 deeply moved and inspired all guests, teachers, and new students in attendance.
Amidst the nationwide efforts to support Northern cities, which is heavily suffering from Typhoon Yagi and prolonged rains and floods, his simple yet humane messages have sparked a strong sense of community responsibility.

According to Prof. DSc. Ho Dac Loc, patriotism, compassion, and integrity are the first lessons that anyone, in any generation, has learned. These values are fundamental and should be practiced daily, especially in times of collective hardship.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, Chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG), urged new students to continuously learn, work diligently, and develop creative thinking, flexibility, sensitivity, and international integration skills to become global citizens. For the 2023-2024 academic year, IPPG funded the 1.3 billion VND HUTECH Scholarship Fund to support students in achieving their dreams.

To recognize achievements and motivate new students, HUTECH offers scholarships covering 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of tuition fees. Additionally, the university's leaders awarded Tran Quang Tien, a new Korean Studies student, a full 100% tuition scholarship.

Also at the opening ceremony, HUTECH introduced the Standing Board and Executive Board of the HUTECH Scholarship Fund and received a VND 50 million grant from Vietinbank - Branch 4.

As part of the ceremony, HUTECH raised funds to support and assist the people in the North affected by Typhoon No. 3.

The drumming has signaled the start of the new academic year. With determination and innovation, HUTECH’s pedagogical team and students are expected to build on their strengths, create breakthroughs, and achieve even greater success.

The new academic year ceremony, held with solemnity and warmth, was attended by Dr. Kieu Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee; and other board members.
Also present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Liem, Former President; Dr. Nguyen Toan, a member of the Founding Board; Prof. DSc. Ho Dac Loc, President; along with faculty representatives, partner businesses, and new 2024 class students.
