To improve the quality of education and broaden international study and exchange opportunities for students, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a meeting and discussion with Edinburgh Napier University (UK) on December 2.
The meeting discussions centered on opportunities for educational collaboration, especially the Franchise model in the School of Business programs at Edinburgh Napier. This model facilitates transnational education (TNE), enabling students to receive high-quality international education in Vietnam and providing opportunities for HUTECH students to study in the UK through exchange programs.
The discussion focused on educational cooperation opportunities between the two institutions
Regarding the cooperation programs, HUTECH and Edinburgh Napier expressed a shared interest in developing a hybrid learning model that combines online and in-person instruction, aiming to provide students with maximum flexibility in accessing knowledge and resources. Additionally, articulation programs are designed to facilitate smooth transfers from HUTECH to Edinburgh Napier. This approach ensures that students not only benefit from a high-quality academic environment but also have the opportunity to experience a well-established international education system, developing skills in a multicultural setting.
Representatives from HUTECH proposed numerous ideas to tailor the programs more effectively to the needs of the university's students
Dr. Pauline Gordon, representing Edinburgh Napier, provided an in-depth overview of the Scottish education system and the learning opportunities available for HUTECH students. Specifically, students can complete their first two years at HUTECH and then transfer to Edinburgh Napier for their third year to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. For those wishing to further their education, a fourth year can be pursued to obtain an Honours Degree. This program offers the opportunity to study at one of Scotland's top universities, while also helping students develop strong skills and professional knowledge, preparing them for international integration.
Dr. Pauline Gordon discussed the education system in Scotland and the learning opportunities available for HUTECH students
Given their many shared development goals, both parties discussed the steps needed to proceed with signing the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) and MOA (Memorandum of Agreement). They also exchanged the necessary information to finalize the legal documentation, establishing a solid foundation for implementing educational cooperation programs. Dr. Pauline Gordon will provide detailed information about the academic programs, costs, and entry requirements at Edinburgh Napier University, enabling HUTECH to support students in preparing for their studies at both institutions.
The discussions between the two universities opened up many learning and development opportunities for students
The discussions between HUTECH and Edinburgh Napier have created numerous learning opportunities and valuable development prospects for students. These opportunities allow students to access modern learning methods and immerse themselves in a multicultural academic environment. Through student exchange programs, they can experience advanced education in Scotland, UK, expand their global network, enhance their skills and knowledge, and confidently work in an international setting.
