Colorful festivals: A journey of cultural discovery
At HUTECH, students often immerse themselves in the lively and colorful atmosphere of multicultural festivals held right on campus. Major events such as the VJIT Matsuri Japanese Cultural Festival, VJIT Hina Matsuri Japanese Doll Festival, Vietnam-Korea Cultural Festival, Hangeul Festival, Taiwan Culinary Culture Day, and International Cultural Exchange Day draw large crowds of participants. These celebrations are closely aligned with the university’s language programs, including English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, reflecting its emphasis on global education.

Each festival recreates the cultural essence of a particular country through distinctive booth decorations and engaging activities such as art exhibitions, traditional cuisine tasting, games, traditional costume try-on, cultural performances, and competitions. Beyond being spectators, students actively participate by decorating booths, preparing dishes, and competing in creative challenges. These vibrant activities provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop global integration skills, enhance language proficiency, and experience world cultures firsthand.

In addition to festivals, HUTECH regularly hosts workshops, seminars, and exchange programs that highlight the rich cultures of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Activities such as Korean traditional fan dancing, Taiwanese music performances, and Japanese Kendo demonstrations create unique cultural spaces. These events not only deepen students' cultural understanding but also inspire them to excel academically and embrace global perspectives.

With an extensive network of international partnerships, HUTECH students benefit from opportunities to connect and collaborate with peers from renowned universities worldwide, including Lincoln University (USA), CY Cergy Paris University (France), Freiberg University of Mining and Technology (Germany), VIA - TEKO University (Denmark), UNIMAS (Malaysia), Tongmyong University (Korea), Dongshin University (Korea), and Hosei University (Japan).
During cultural exchanges, students engage in interactive activities such as crafting traditional items, performing cultural arts, attending workshops on traditional practices, and participating in volunteer projects. Welcoming international friends for cultural and academic exchange
HUTECH students go beyond cultural exchange by collaborating with international peers on academic and research projects. For instance, HUTECH’s Japanese Studies students and Hosei University students have co-organized Vietnamese language classes, field trips, lantern-making contests, and Hokusai - Ikebana art exhibitions. These collaborative efforts culminate in research presentations, helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while embracing an international mindset.
HUTECH also provides pathways for students to gain international experience through study programs, cultural exchanges, and paid internships in countries such as Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Germany.
