This morning (March 6), the Management System Surveillance Audit for Educational Organizations according to ISO 21001:2018, conducted by the Vietnam Certification Centre (QUACERT) under the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality, officially commenced at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).

The audit is scheduled to take place over two days, from March 6 to March 7, 2025, aiming to determine the conformity of the management system, assess its compliance with legal requirements, evaluate its effectiveness in consistently achieving objectives, and review the system's readiness for the recommendation to maintain ISO 21001:2018 certification.
The QUACERT delegation attending the opening ceremony included Mr. Le Vu Soai – Head of the evaluation team, Mr. Phan Chi My – team member, and Mr. Tran Quang Chu – team member (conducting an online evaluation). Representing HUTECH were Dr. Ly Thien Trang – Vice President, Dr. Bui Van The Vinh – Vice President, along with leaders from various departments, faculties, institutes, and centers of the university.

During the ceremony, Dr. Ly Thien Trang expressed her gratitude to the expert team for dedicating their time to conducting the evaluation at HUTECH. She also highlighted that the feedback and recommendations from previous evaluations have enabled the university to implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions to establish a robust internal and external quality assurance system. Additionally, she provided an overview of the university's quality assurance and improvement efforts, national and international accreditation programs, and wished the evaluation team good health, hoping for a successful and fruitful audit process.

Furthermore, the QUACERT team gained a broader perspective on the university’s academic programs and educational quality through a video showcasing the university’s facilities, a faculty comprising esteemed scientists, diverse academic development activities for students, a comprehensive learning environment, and the University-Enterprise model ensuring job opportunities for graduates.
On behalf of the QUACERT team, Mr. Le Vu Soai expressed gratitude to HUTECH for the warm welcome and strong support provided to the evaluation team. He also praised the quality of education and the high employment rate of graduates. The evaluation team is committed to conducting a thorough and objective assessment to provide the most accurate feedback, helping the university enhance its education management system.

Following the opening ceremony, the evaluation team was divided into three groups: Group A (led by Mr. Le Vu Soai), Group B (led by Mr. Phan Chi My), and Group C (led by Mr. Tran Quang Chu). These groups proceeded with evaluations and interviews with university leaders, representatives, and 16 selected divisions (including nine evaluated in person, five evaluated online, and one evaluated both online and in person). The evaluation focused on organizational structure and operations, authority regulations, legal documents from relevant parties, internal audit details, corrective and improvement actions taken after previous internal audits, as well as the needs of students and other stakeholders.
