On May 21, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) participated in the 2025 Asian Graduate Studies Summit (A-GRASS 2025), held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE).

Taking place from May 21 to 24 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Asian Graduate Studies Summit (A-GRASS 2025) was organized by the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE) in collaboration with HCMUTE. The event brought together prominent universities, research institutes, and academic organizations from Asia, Europe, and other parts of the world.
Representing HUTECH, Dr. Ly Thien Trang delivered a speech titled “The Role of Universities in Advancing Regional Sustainable Development,” which drew keen interest and praise from attendees. In her remarks, Dr. Trang emphasized the crucial role universities play in realizing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She also highlighted ongoing sustainability initiatives at HUTECH and the University of Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh City (UEF).

Centered on the theme “Bridging Knowledge and Action: Transformative Graduate Education and Research for a Sustainable Asia,” A-GRASS 2025 served as an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, faculty members, graduate students, policymakers, and experts from across the region. More than 100 additional participants from academic institutions and organizations around the world also joined online. The summit aimed to build a sustainable academic foundation and promote practical solutions to pressing challenges across the Asia-Pacific region. Through academic paper presentations and in-depth panel discussions, graduate students, researchers, and educators from diverse fields shared insights, exchanged experiences, and explored new opportunities for collaboration in a dynamic, multidimensional academic space.
A-GRASS 2025 offered a multidisciplinary forum dedicated to building a sustainable academic foundation
The summit covered a broad range of key disciplines, including Business, Finance, and Management; Education at all levels such as Early Childhood, Special Education, Basic Education, Technical and Vocational Education, and Higher Education; Engineering and Technology; Natural and Applied Sciences; as well as Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities. This interdisciplinary and inclusive approach highlighted the effort to bridge theory with practice, connecting graduate education to community-driven action, and contributing to a more sustainable future for the region.
As part of the summit, a signing ceremony was held for Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with 28 participating universities and institutions. The list includes:
