On June 25, the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and the Vietnam – Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a meeting with Mr. Akihiko Ikai – Head of the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship in Japan.

The meeting took place on June 25 at the Saigon Campus
Mr. Akihiko Ikai was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai Van Nam – Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and President of the Rotary Yoneyama Vietnam Association, along with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam – Vice Director of the VJIT Japanese Language Center.

During the meeting, Mr. Akihiko Ikai presented the third Akihiko Ikai Family Scholarship to outstanding VJIT students. He also joined a discussion session and offered feedback to student groups preparing for internships in Japan.

Two student groups who had recently completed their internships in Japan confidently presented their reports and shared their hands-on experiences working at Japanese companies. In addition, a group of students preparing to depart for Japan in August shared their plans and preparations for the upcoming journey.

With thorough preparation and professional demeanor, the student groups made a strong impression on Mr. Akihiko Ikai. He highly commended their technical knowledge and language proficiency, as well as their understanding of Japanese culture, lifestyle, and communication etiquette.

He also expressed his appreciation for the strong learning spirit and aspirations of HUTECH students in general, and VJIT students in particular. Mr. Ikai shared valuable insights on Japanese culture, society, and workplace environments, providing students with practical knowledge for their journey toward international integration.
