HUTECH launches Green Summer 2025 Campaign

On July 12, more than 600 student volunteers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially launched the Green Summer 2025 campaign, ready for a meaningful season of hands-on experiences across various locations.

The launch ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Student Association, sponsors, partner organizations, and university leaders from various faculties, institutes, departments, and centers, all there to energize and cheer on the volunteers.

At the ceremony, Mr. Vo Xuan Dat, Secretary of the HUTECH Youth Union and Commander-in-Chief of the Green Summer 2025 campaign, delivered a detailed report on the campaign’s preparations and the planned activities and projects.

Specifically, the campaign will run from July 12 to August 3, covering two main fronts: Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Thap province. In Ho Chi Minh City, volunteer teams will be active in Thanh My Tay Ward, Thu Duc Ward, Tang Nhon Phu Ward, Long Binh Ward, and Nha Be Commune, focusing on activities such as: Creating “Civilized Alley - Clean and Beautiful Neighborhood” projects, promoting waste sorting at source, tutoring children, organizing playgrounds for kids, providing digital literacy support to residents, supporting local authorities in two-tier government operations.

The enthusiastic spirit of each team across various fronts
Mr. Vo Xuan Dat emphasized, “Today we march not just with backpacks, blue shirts, and sandals, but also with the knowledge, skills, and compassion forged through years of learning and training at HUTECH. We won’t fear the sun, distance, or challenges, because we understand that a youth without experience, struggle, or generosity is an incomplete youth. Let the people remember HUTECH students as those who came with love, stayed with purpose, and left with lasting memories.”
On behalf of the university, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Anh - Vice President - shared his hopes, “The Green Summer campaign offers a real-world environment for students to grow in character, mindset, and action, while spreading positive values. I hope you will uphold discipline, stay safe, and give your best to make this campaign a success.”

Representing the volunteers, Nguyen Bui Dieu Nguyen - a student stationed in Dong Thap - expressed her dedication, “In this era of a rising Vietnam, we understand that every project, every task, every shared smile contributes to building the image of a dynamic, responsible, and idealistic student generation. Though we know challenges lie ahead, they will forge our resilience, unity, and determination. Contribution doesn’t have to be grand; it’s about doing the smallest things with our whole hearts. We will turn each day of the campaign into a beautiful memory, a testament to youth in action. And when it’s over, we’ll proudly say: We lived a vibrant, fulfilling Green Summer.”

At the event, the university’s Youth Union and Student Association officially announced the Campaign Command Board, consisting of Mr. Vo Xuan Dat - Secretary of the Youth Union, Commander-in-Chief; Ms. Le Ngoc Thanh An - Standing Deputy Secretary, Deputy Commander-in-Chief; Mr. Le Minh Vu - Deputy Secretary, Deputy Commander; Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Tu - Vice President of the Student Association, Deputy Commander; Pham Thi Hoa Binh - Vice President of the Student Association, Deputy Commander, along with other board members.

A solemn and proud moment followed as the traditional Green Summer flag was raised and officially handed over to the campaign command. Fluttering high to the tune of the rousing volunteer anthem, the flag signaled the call to action for all involved. Dr. Kieu Tuan - Party Secretary and Standing Member of the University Board of Directors - handed over the campaign flag and offered motivating words to ignite the spirit of the entire campaign.

Following the launch ceremony, volunteers in Ho Chi Minh City kicked off the campaign with a mural-painting activity at Alley 818/19, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Thanh My Tay Ward. The mural, measuring 10 meters wide by 3 meters high, carried the theme “National Unity.”
