On February 26, 2025, four graduate students from the English Language program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) defended their Master’s theses, presenting research related to English teaching and applied linguistics before an expert panel.

The thesis evaluation committee consisted of five members from HUTECH and other universities
Each of the four students presented research on effective English teaching methods in various settings, including:
Investigating primary school teachers’ awareness of and use of technology in English instruction
Examining student engagement in classrooms taught using English as the medium of instruction
Evaluating vocabulary acquisition and student attitudes toward online English learning applications
Assessing the impact of frequent assessment on improving English reading skills in secondary school students.

These projects were praised for their practical and creative approaches. The committee not only offered sharp academic critiques, but also suggested deeper avenues to develop each study, aiding students in refining their theses and promoting more effective English teaching strategies.

The defense concluded with lively academic exchanges and demonstrated the students' serious commitment to research quality. The successfully defended theses marked a new academic milestone and contributed valuable new solutions for teaching and learning English.
