On July 3, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Economics and Finance (UEF), successfully organized a scientific conference titled “Digital Tourism: Innovation, Integration, and Development”. The event highlighted a forward-looking educational perspective on tourism development in the digital transformation era.
The scientific conference themed “Digital Tourism: Innovation, Integration, and Development” took place on July 3.
The conference received and published 33 selected scientific papers in its proceedings, contributed by lecturers and researchers from 16 universities and colleges nationwide, along with the participation of numerous experts and enterprises in the tourism sector. The papers addressed key issues in the industry within the context of innovation, reflecting the deep interest of both academia and practice in improving training quality and promoting sustainable, creative tourism development. The conference was sponsored by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) under the research code 504.99-2024.12, contract number NCCB/2025/504/10, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quyet Thang, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, serving as the project leader.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Bùi Văn Thế Vinh, Vice President of the University, emphasized the role of digital transformation in education and in training human resources for the tourism industry. He shared: “I hope that the reports presented at the conference will contribute to shaping and renewing training programs, equipping students and learners with essential digital skills. These updates will not only help them enhance their creativity but also improve their adaptability to the increasingly demanding requirements of the tourism industry in the digital age.”

From an academic and organizational perspective, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quyet Thang, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, stated:“Although the conference was only initiated a little over four months ago, it has already garnered strong interest from the professional community. We hope that, in the near future, this event will evolve into a national-level scientific conference. Through the presented papers, we can clearly identify the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation, thereby guiding curriculum development and research to align more closely with practical needs.”

the professional community during the conference.
At the conference, two discussion sessions featuring five outstanding research topics were actively presented, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen – Vice President of HUTECH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quyet Thang – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at HUTECH, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuoc Minh Hiep – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Hong Bang International University.
