HUTECH Tourism and Hospitality Students Enrich Their Skills and Gear Up for Future Careers

As part of the series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment, on May 17, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a talkshow titled “Tour Guides in the New Era”, aiming to help students update their knowledge and gain practical skills directly from industry professionals.

In addition to providing students with a solid foundation in theory and hands-on professional skills, HUTECH regularly organizes engaging “classrooms” in the form of seminars and workshops, where the “lecturers” are industry veterans with real-world experience. These sessions offer students valuable opportunities to enhance their knowledge, sharpen practical skills, and build the confidence and competitive edge they need to thrive in the future job market.

Students enthusiastically raised many interesting questions for the guest speaker

According to guest speaker Minh Luyen, working in the tourism industry—especially as a tour guide—requires more than just basic knowledge, skills, and attitude. To truly “win over” customers, students should also equip themselves with photography and videography skills, improve their foreign language proficiency, provide thoughtful customer care, and apply creative methods to make their tour presentations more engaging and enjoyable.
