To create opportunities for students to engage and exchange with international peers and expand their global learning experience, on July 29, the Institute of International Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a cultural exchange event with a student delegation from Dania University of Applied Sciences (Denmark).

The exchange session took place on the morning of July 29
Speaking at the event, Ms. Dinh Hai Yen, Assistant to the University Board of Directors, emphasized that this was not just a regular cultural exchange activity, but also a cultural bridge contributing to the promotion of international cooperation in education and training. According to her, the real-life experiences offered by the program would help international students gain deeper insights into Vietnamese life, culture, and people. At the same time, it was also a valuable opportunity for HUTECH students to demonstrate their initiative, creativity, and confidence in a global academic environment.

One of the program's highlights was a series of interactive games among the students, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Notably, the game “Learning Vietnamese and Danish” received enthusiastic participation from attendees. Students were divided into small groups to learn and pronounce basic words in Vietnamese and Danish, such as greetings, traditional foods, and place names. The amusing and hesitant attempts at pronunciation sparked laughter, helping both sides break language barriers and approach each other’s cultures in a fun and natural way.

Another fun challenge was the game “Loss in Communication,” a relay activity where an English sentence was passed from one player to the next, contributing to the lively and engaging atmosphere. Each group selected a simple English sentence; the first person whispered it to the next, and so on until the last person. The fun part was that the sentence often changed significantly by the end, resulting in humorous and unexpected outcomes. The game sparked joy and laughter, while also reflecting differences in how individuals and cultures receive and convey information, a practical lesson in intercultural communication in today’s globalized world.

Through diverse and meaningful activities, the exchange event provided students with opportunities to practice teamwork, enhance English communication skills, and broaden their understanding of multiculturalism. Real-life experiences, group discussions, and idea-sharing sessions helped students build confidence, take initiative, and adapt effectively to international learning environments. More importantly, the connections formed during the program are expected to grow into long-lasting academic collaborations and partnerships in the future.

It is noted that continuing the series of international cooperation activities, 15 students from Dania University of Applied Sciences will participate in an academic exchange program at HUTECH from July 28 to August 8, 2025. Over the 10-day period, the international students will join HUTECH lecturers and students in professional, soft skills, and cultural classes; they will also engage in practical experiences through company tours and academic networking activities.
