To give students a better understanding of international business and the global economy, the Faculty of Business Administration at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the seminar “Beyond Borders: A Seminar on Global Monetary and Fiscal Policy” on November 13, led by Dr. Jamshid Hosseini from Marquette University (USA).
Dr. Jamshid Hosseini served as the speaker at the seminar “Beyond Borders: A Seminar on Global Monetary and Fiscal Policy”
At the seminar, Dr. Jamshid Hosseini presented the topic “Monetary Policy and Fiscal Policy: EU, US, China, Vietnam,” giving students a comprehensive view of how major economies operate their macroeconomic policy systems. Through comparisons across continents and countries with different levels of economic development, students gained access to practical analyses of the similarities, differences, and management strategies of each country in the context of globalization.
The speaker presented the content on monetary and fiscal policy in a clear and organized manner
The speaker explained monetary policy in a clear and organized way, helping students understand the role and functions of central banks, the operations of the ECB, Fed, PBOC, and SBV, and how institutional independence and political factors affect policy decisions. Students learned how countries manage inflation, stabilize prices, and guide economic growth.
At the same time, the discussion on fiscal policy showed how governments use spending, taxation, and borrowing to support growth, stabilize the economy, and redistribute resources. The analysis of how fiscal and monetary policies interact gave students a clear view of how these tools work together to maintain a country’s long-term financial health.
Faculty members and students engaged with the speaker to explore economic and financial topics in depth
The seminar not only provided new knowledge but also encouraged HUTECH students to explore economic and financial topics further. Dr. Jamshid Hosseini’s mix of academic and practical insights helped students gain a clearer understanding of the modern economy and feel more confident in planning their careers in a global context.
