On July 31, students majoring in Event Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) took part in an educational field trip to explore the production process of the music program “The Next Concert,” organized by GB VIETNAM.
The field trip was a practical activity within the course "Marketing and Communication in Events," designed to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice in professional event planning. During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe, analyze, and gain deeper insights into event organization processes, backstage technical operations, and the coordination among specialized teams.

As part of the program, students had the opportunity to hear in-depth insights from leading experts in the event industry. Mr. Vo Minh Hien – CEO of International Solutions for Events (ISE) – gave a detailed presentation on the execution process, including stage setup, modern sound and lighting systems, and LED screens used in “The Next Concert.” A key highlight was the introduction and live demonstration of the installation and operation of the BlackTruss Aluminium New 2025 stage system. Students observed the entire workflow firsthand, from initial site inspection and material preparation to truss frame assembly, integration of sound and lighting systems, and trial stage operations.

Following that, Mr. Doan Quoc Duy – Chief Director of “The Next Concert” – shared a wealth of practical experience related to organizing and operating a large-scale music event. He provided a clear overview of the backstage process, from concept development and planning to personnel allocation and the implementation of stage, sound, and lighting setups. Notably, he emphasized the crucial role of close coordination among production teams, technical crews, and performers to ensure the event runs smoothly and stays on schedule.

In addition, Mr. Quoc Duy shared valuable lessons learned from directing large-scale shows with audiences of tens of thousands. He discussed topics such as risk management, troubleshooting unexpected issues, and effective communication with partners, sponsors, artists, and local authorities. Through these insights, he emphasized that a show director must not only possess creative thinking but also strong organizational, leadership, and management skills to oversee the entire operation of a professional event.
