During the exchange, students learned about the art of calligraphy and origami folding - distinctive elements of Japanese culture. They also enjoyed the rustic flavors of Southern Vietnamese folk cakes, a part of Vietnam’s traditional cuisine. These activities provided opportunities for students to explore culture and appreciate the traditional beauty of both countries.

In addition to cultural exchange, students enthusiastically participated in group discussion sessions on five pressing environmental issues: food and beverage waste; non-degradable waste; unsorted waste; littering around stadiums; and excessive use of packaging.

For each topic, the groups analyzed the causes, identified affected parties, pointed out difficulties in handling, and proposed practical solutions, from raising community awareness and improving waste classification systems to encouraging waste reduction models. Through this, students not only sought solutions to environmental issues but also fostered a sense of responsibility and cross-border cooperation among the younger generation for a green, clean, and sustainable planet.

The exchange helped VJIT and Japanese students gain a deeper understanding of each other’s culture and spread the message of green living while raising awareness about environmental protection. It was also an opportunity for them to practice foreign languages, expand international relationships, and gain valuable experience for future integration.
