Surpassing many strong competitors from 24 countries, a student team from the Faculty of Korean Studies, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), won First Prize in the group category at the 29th K-Speech World Contest, held on August 14.

The contest was co-organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and the Korea Speech & Debate Association, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Unification, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Overseas Koreans Agency under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of Korea, with the support of KBS. This prestigious academic event gathers outstanding Korean-speaking contestants from around the world.
Continuing their success at the 13th K-Speech Contest in Southern Vietnam, the HUTECH student team delivered an impressive presentation on the theme of Vietnam-Korea cooperation. Their performance not only emphasized history as a mirror of the present and a gateway to the future, but also highlighted topics such as economic cooperation, educational collaboration, Vietnam-Korea friendship, and the aspiration for peace.

With their humanistic message, spirit of solidarity, and remarkable delivery, the team convinced the judges and proudly secured First Prize. This award also grants them the honor of receiving a Certificate of Commendation from the Minister of Unification of Korea, which is considered one of the most prestigious recognitions in the international Korean speech contest system, representing official acknowledgment from the Korean Government.
A remarkable achievement affirming HUTECH students’ talent on the world stage
This accomplishment is not only a source of pride but also a driving force for students to nurture their passion for the Korean language and culture, affirming their confidence and capability in global integration.
