Language and cultural learning methods need to be delivered in engaging and dynamic ways to help learners access international perspectives more easily.
Within the framework of Global Service Learning 2025, students from the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology HUTECH took part in exchange activities with a delegation from Tongmyong University of Korea. The program featured a series of experiential activities designed to bring students closer to the language and culture of Korea.

The first workshop session focused on learning Korean through K pop songs. Professor Lee Jieun, together with Tongmyong University students, guided participants in applying basic grammar, practicing listening skills, and writing song lyrics while singing along in Korean. The classroom atmosphere became lively as students actively joined quick response activities and shared their favorite singers or songs. Learning through music created a sense of familiarity and helped students improve pronunciation and communicate more naturally.

The experience then expanded to the topic of Korean culture. Students explored key features of major cities, local cuisine, and prominent landmarks. During the session, they learned sentence structures for describing places and vocabulary related to high and low elevation in Korean. Supported by vivid visuals, regional stories, and direct interaction with the Tongmyong University delegation, the session helped students gain a clearer understanding of Korean cultural identity and sparked greater interest in their language learning journey.
