Racing HUTECH 2020 - Satisfying the passion for designing racing car models of students from HUTECH Institute of Engineering

On October 17, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) brought back the RACING HUTECH 2020 contest to students with a shared passion for miniature car racing. The contest took place in full swing at HUTECH High-Quality Manpower Training Center, with the participation of a large number of students.

The opening of the contest welcomed the presence of the Director of HUTECH Institute of Engineering, representatives of Lac Hong University. Participating in the contests were 29 teams from Lac Hong University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). There were also many lecturers and students cheering on the contestants.

Dr. Nguyen Van Nhanh shared, “RACING HUTECH 2020 was an ideal playground for students, especially those with a shared passion for technology, automotive mechanical engineering, etc. This is also an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge to practice and gain valuable practical experiences.”
Ready, Set, GO!
As an annual contest organized by HUTECH Institute of Engineering, RACING HUTECH is a race that challenges the ability of the contestant to innovate, design, and assemble a miniature car model based on a lawnmower engine. Besides, students are required to design and construct custom frames and control systems entirely by themselves.

A huge crowd cheers on the competing teams
After the competitive group stage, 16 outstanding teams moved on to an even more thrilling elimination round to find out which team would be the champion of RACING HUTECH 2020. Surpassing all opponents to be the first team to cross the finish line, Hong No Team was the new champion of RACING HUTECH 2020. Following in second and third place were Car Plus and Crap Car, respectively.

The “Best Design” award is also given out to the innovative and efficient model of the KNC team from Lac Hong University
