Minister of Education and Training is impressed with HUTECH.

In the afternoon of 06 June, 2016, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training led by Minister Phung Xuan Nha paid an official visit to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).
Accompanying the Minister were the Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga, Chief of the Ministry Office, deputy Chief of the Ministry Office - Assistant Minister, Director of Testing and Accreditation, Director General of Higher Education, Director General of Specialized Education, Director General of Secondary Education, Director General of Primary Education, Director General of Preschool Education, Director General of International Cooperation, Director of the HCM City Ministry representative.
Welcoming the delegation were Dr. Kieu Tuan – Chairman of HUTECH, Prof. Dr. Ho Dac Loc - President, Deans along with numerous lecturers, staff and students of HUTECH.
Right after their arrival to HUTECH, the delegation toured the infrastructures for training and research of the school. The delegation highly praised the major investments made to the modern laboratory centers, well equipped lab rooms, expedient library abundance in books collections and database. In addition, the leadership of the Ministry was also impressed with the "products” that made the dynamic and modern university environment at HUTECH stands out from other educational establishments: five stars standard hotel model, Gym, PD classrooms (project design), sports stadium, photography practice room, melodrama and art theater and so much more.
Opening the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ho Dac Loc – President has expressed his deepest gratitude for the attention and trust of the MOET for HUTECH over the past few years, particularly through this official visit. Right after that, Prof. Dr. Ho Dac Loc has briefly reported the training profile of the school since its inauguration, the initial difficulties to the development of the training scale, accomplishments achieved in the fields of training, scientific research, contingent building, students works, accreditation, international relations, business collaboration, infrastructure building, etc. many of which have made a special impression on the delegation:
Such as the work on contingent building; HUTECH has attracted a lot of young scientists actively involving in teaching and researching, including outstanding talents like Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, who has had two consecutive years listed in the top of the world most influential scientists. At HUTECH, the average age of doctor is 40, most of whom are young and graduated internationally.
Or the reports on business cooperation, the Presidentl has confirmed HUTECH training strategy to be of an application university, thus the school does not see businesses merely as "partner but have direct cohesion with them, businesses being part of the training process, actively implement the orientation along with HUTECH. Because of that, most of the training courses at HUTECH include "internship” in the curriculum.
Representing the delegation, Minister Phung Xuan Nha made a steering speech for all of HUTECH. At the opening speech, the Minister said: "Ho Chi Minh City is the most dynamic developing place in the country, with hundreds of operating universities and colleges but I decided to visit HUTECH for a reason. HUTECH is a private university; the leaders previously often visit public schools and universities, with the visit this time, I want to change that mindset, bringing fairness to all the schools. The policy of the Ministry is that all are equal, and the Ministry will care and support for the right directions as HUTECH has been implementing ".
According to the Minister, developing human resources is one of three breakthrough stages, but this is also the most problematic stage, it is about the quality. The Minister affirmed: "The HCM University of Technology even though not long in history, only 21 years of development, but its workforce training outcome is very effective with over 80% of students having a job after graduation. This demonstrates that HUTECH is on the rise, entering the service of workforce training for the country. I admit that HUTECH has achieved both in training model and product. HUTECH training model is exemplary for many other universities to refer to”.
Along with recognizing the results HUTECH has achieved in education - training, Minister Phung Xuan Nha has continued orientating, guiding and encouraging the school to continue to have new successes. First, the Minister think that the school is rational when develop following the direction of Application University, but HUTECH should try to choose for itself a difference which is reflected in the quality of services, to focus on the professions that the economy needs, boldly choose the professions that have not been widely trained yet or the school doesn’t have yet but the tendency to the integration of ASEAN and TPP requires.
According to the Minister, HUTECH university autonomy model has had a solid start, training tied to reality, closely connected with businesses. Should be subsequently promoted further, avoid unsustainable cases, litigating leading to non-development, affecting the leaners’ mentality.
Closing the speech, Minister Phung Xuan Nha again appreciated the achievements HUTECH has gained. He stressed: "I am confident with this direction; the HCM City University of Technology (HUTECH) will become a highlight, helping to change the concept of public and private schools, striving to form a concept of public and private alike and equal before the law. This is also a message to other private schools contributing to build a high quality education in order to create humane individuals."
If the official visit of the delegation expressed interests from the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Training in HCMC University of Technology - HUTECH then the speeches and the deep directional opinions of the Minister Phung Xuan Nha are the tremendous encouragement, exhortation to HUTECH to stably continue its mission, and to reap many more proud-worthy successes in the near future.
