HUTECH signs MoU with Bucheon University

On February 6, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Bucheon University (South Korea), marking a new milestone in international educational cooperation, particularly in Fashion Design and Textile Technology.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of HUTECH, expressed her pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Bucheon University to HUTECH. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, she extended her best wishes to the delegation and hoped that the cooperation between the two universities would achieve great success, bringing development opportunities for students from both institutions.

Following that, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, provided an overview of HUTECH, emphasizing the university’s achievements in education and international cooperation. Notably, 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of HUTECH—a significant milestone in the university’s sustainable development, with high aspirations for further growth.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quyen, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, and Ms. Dao Thi Thao Hien, Lecturer in Fashion Design, introduced the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, which offers five academic programs: Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Textile Technology, and Digital Arts. With over 25 years of development, the faculty has always focused on connecting with businesses and training generations of talented students with practical skills to meet the high demands of the labor market.

Representing Bucheon University, Prof. Kim Mo Ran, Executive Director of the Institute for International Cooperation, introduced the university, highlighting its strategic location in Bucheon, near Seoul, which is advantageous for international students. The university is recognized by the South Korean government as one of the top institutions for international students, boasting a 100% employment rate for graduates.


Professor Yoon Ji Won, Dean of the Faculty of Fashion Business, emphasized that Bucheon University stands out for its Fashion Business program, which offers a practical curriculum covering the entire process from design to product manufacturing. With an ecosystem of nearly 100 garment companies in the surrounding area, students have ample opportunities for internships and employment immediately after graduation, positioning them as promising professionals in the industry.

Following the presentations, the two universities officially signed the MOU, establishing cooperation in Fashion Design and Textile Technology. This memorandum marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between HUTECH and Bucheon University.

Within the framework of this collaboration, both institutions will continue discussions and implement student exchange programs, enabling HUTECH students to study and gain practical experience in South Korea’s advanced educational environment. This will also provide them with greater access to major enterprises in the fashion and textile industries. Additionally, the partnership will create opportunities for joint research between faculty members from both universities, contributing to enhanced educational quality for both sides.
