The discussions focused on practical collaboration, including the development of Korean language education, expansion of international internship opportunities, and connections with disciplines related to culture and multimedia communication.
Dr. Bui Phan Anh Thu noted that students of the Faculty of Korean Studies have diverse professional development pathways thanks to a flexible training model and interdisciplinary integration with communication, journalism, and multimedia studies. These fields have strong potential for connection with contemporary Korean socio-cultural contexts. She expressed her expectation that HUTECH lecturers and students would gain greater access to high quality academic programs at SeoulTech. The integration of education and cultural promotion could form a cohesive value chain, which is particularly relevant as Korean cultural influence continues to expand globally.
Dr. Bui Phan Anh Thu emphasized that cooperation between the two institutions is well suited to the current context of international integration
Representing SeoulTech, Dr. Jihye Kim shared that the University is implementing a Global Korean Language Education strategy following approval by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea for a dedicated program for international students. The Department of Korean Language and Culture currently oversees a wide range of training activities, from Korean language education to cultural content planning and interdisciplinary media communication, with the aim of developing comprehensive language and cultural competencies for students. According to Dr. Jihye Kim, the program seeks to enable students to achieve Korean language proficiency, integrate into society, work in Korea, or return to Vietnam with strong professional qualifications.
SeoulTech representatives shared strategic plans in education with the Faculty
Dr. Jihye Kim also introduced an online international internship program connected with tourism sites in Vietnam, providing final year students with practical work experience. In addition to cultural disciplines, SeoulTech has strengths in fields such as logistics, automotive engineering, and information technology, which are implemented through a 2 plus 2 model with multiple universities. This approach offers students flexible study pathways and opportunities to experience the education systems of both countries. The current personnel transition within the international admissions office presents a favorable opportunity for SeoulTech to restructure educational cooperation processes, streamline partner engagement procedures, and expand its international network toward a more sustainable and effective cooperation model.
