Recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) was awarded certificates of quality assurance for four Master’s degree offerings under the standards of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance system.
The certificates, signed by the senior leader of the AUN-QA Council, officially recognise the Master’s degrees in Economic Law, Civil Engineering, English Language, and Tourism and Travel Management as fully meeting rigorous regional quality standards. This achievement is the result of a thorough and well-structured evaluation process conducted through an on-site assessment at HUTECH from 12 to 14 August 2025.

With four additional Master’s degrees assessed by AUN-QA, the total number of HUTECH offerings meeting AUN-QA standards has now reached fourteen. This milestone clearly reflects the University’s sustainable development orientation, with quality as its core foundation, and its ongoing efforts to standardise academic activities in line with regional benchmarks.

AUN-QA is one of the most reputable quality assurance systems in Southeast Asia, focusing on comprehensive and rigorous evaluation of academic offerings based on the philosophy of Outcome-Based Education. The AUN-QA standards examine key elements such as objectives and learning outcomes, curriculum structure and content, teaching, learning and assessment methods, academic staff, facilities, learner support systems, as well as internal quality assurance mechanisms and continuous improvement. Achieving AUN-QA certification demonstrates that HUTECH offerings not only meet national requirements but also align closely with shared regional higher education standards, providing a solid foundation for international recognition and integration.
This achievement further affirms HUTECH’s capacity in academic organisation and management, particularly at the postgraduate level. It reflects long term and systematic investment in curriculum development, faculty development, standardised facilities, and the operation of quality assurance systems, while clearly demonstrating the University’s strong commitment to continuously enhancing academic quality in the context of deepening higher education integration.
Alongside AUN-QA assessment, HUTECH has remained consistent in its international standardisation strategy by completing FIBAA accreditation from Germany for four programmes in the past academic year. The University will also continue implementing self-assessment of additional programmes under FIBAA standards in the 2026 academic year. These consistent steps in accreditation and standardisation highlight HUTECH’s gradual development of a high quality and well-integrated academic ecosystem at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The continuous expansion of offerings assessed by AUN-QA and FIBAA not only underscores HUTECH’s strategic vision in quality enhancement and international integration, but also serves as clear evidence of the University’s increasingly solid position on the map of higher education in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
