The working session between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and the University of Barcelona opened up numerous prospects for collaboration in education, research, and academic exchange, contributing to expanded learning and research opportunities for students and faculty members within a global education environment.

Representing the University of Barcelona at the meeting were Prof. Joan Guardia - Rector; Prof. Raul Ramos - Vice-Rector for Internationalization; along with other members of the delegation
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Kieu Xuan Hung, Chairman of the University Board of Directors, expressed his appreciation to Mr. José Sánchez-Barroso – Honorary Vice Consul of Spain for connecting HUTECH with the University of Barcelona and warmly welcomed the delegation to the University. He emphasized HUTECH’s strong commitment to internationalization, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation with European partners in education, research, and academic exchange.

With this vision, HUTECH expressed its intention to establish a “European Cooperation Hub” to strengthen education and research connections between HUTECH and universities across Europe. Within this strategy, the University of Barcelona is regarded as a highly promising strategic partner that can collaborate with HUTECH in developing in-depth partnership initiatives aligned with international academic standards and the demand for high quality human resources.

During the meeting, both sides discussed several specific directions for cooperation, including student exchange, the development of joint academic offerings, scientific research collaboration, the implementation of international projects, and doctoral education opportunities for HUTECH faculty members at the University of Barcelona. These initiatives carry practical significance, creating opportunities for students to access an international learning environment while enabling faculty members to strengthen their research capabilities, expand their academic networks, and engage more actively in global scientific activities.
