To create a space for students to listen and share valuable experiences in balancing work and family during the Lunar New Year, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), organized the talk show “Tet Holiday – Meet Deadlines or Go Home?” on January 18.

The talk show offered valuable insights to help students balance work and family during the holiday
The event featured two reputable speakers in the field of international education: Ms. Vinh Nguyen (Annie), Representative of Kaplan Higher Education Academy (Singapore), and Ms. Ginny Thao Hoang, Director of Admissions for the Master’s Programs at SP Jain School of Global Management. With over 15 years of professional experience, both speakers shared practical and useful advice in response to a common question among young people: “How can I stay on top of work while still enjoying the Lunar New Year to the fullest?”

Throughout the talk show, the speakers introduced specific strategies to help students maintain balance between their work and personal happiness. They particularly emphasized the importance of effective time management, starting with planning ahead and setting priorities early. Modern technologies such as video calls, messaging apps, and digital scheduling tools were also suggested as effective means to stay connected to work while sharing holiday joy with family and friends across distances.

Beyond practical strategies, the talk show also encouraged students to appreciate the value of traditional culture. Tet Holiday is not only a time to rest, but also a chance for young people to reflect on the meaning of family, roots, and national identity. This becomes even more important in the context of global integration, where each individual is called to preserve their spiritual and cultural values while striving in society. Therefore, maintaining a relaxed mindset, taking care of oneself, and spending quality time with family are seen as “keys” to recharging energy and finding motivation to keep moving forward after the holiday.

The event also helped students realize that success is not only measured by career achievements but also by how we value the important aspects of life, such as family and personal relationship, laying the foundation for a balanced and sustainable future.
