VKIT HUTECH student becomes one of Vietnam’s three representatives at AUN Summer Camp 2026

As one of only three students selected to represent Vietnam at the SDGs Global Camp 2026 in Thailand, Ly Vu Nhu Ngoc, a Digital Marketing student from Cohort 24 at the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), has made a remarkable mark on the international journey of Vietnam’s younger generation.

The program took place from June 4 to 13, 2026, and was jointly organized by Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, and Universiti Malaysia Sabah as part of the AUN Summer Camp, an annual academic and cultural exchange initiative of the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

Centered on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the program brought together students from across ASEAN and around the world for a series of academic, experiential, and cross cultural learning activities.

To earn a place in the program, Nhu Ngoc proactively sought out information, prepared her application, and successfully advanced through a highly competitive selection process. Being chosen as one of only three Vietnamese representatives highlights the determination, adaptability, and confidence that VKIT HUTECH students bring to international academic environments.

Throughout the program, Nhu Ngoc participated in academic sessions, panel discussions, and interdisciplinary dialogues focused on sustainable development. Through discussions covering community development, environmental issues, the green economy, project management, and contemporary social challenges, she gained a broader understanding of the SDGs while exchanging perspectives with international students on issues affecting the region.

One of the program’s highlights was the international team project, where participants worked together to develop innovative ideas addressing the SDGs. In a multicultural environment, Nhu Ngoc and her teammates from various countries identified key challenges, developed solutions, refined their concepts, and presented their projects during the final session. The experience strengthened students’ creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and problem solving abilities in a global context.

In addition to academic activities, the program included experiential learning opportunities across Thailand, allowing participants to connect classroom knowledge with real world social, environmental, and community issues. Through field visits and hands on experiences, students gained deeper insight into how local communities identify development challenges, implement environmental initiatives, and design solutions tailored to their specific contexts.

At the same time, ASEAN cultural exchange activities gave Nhu Ngoc the opportunity to explore Thai culture, strengthen mutual understanding among students from different countries, and expand her international network. After ten days of learning and cultural immersion, being selected as one of Vietnam’s three representatives at AUN Summer Camp 2026 became not only a memorable milestone for the VKIT student but also a reflection of the proactive mindset, academic excellence, and global aspirations of HUTECH’s younger generation.
