On November 26, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), in collaboration with the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, will host a special event titled “Vietnamese Tea Culture.” The event promises to offer students an insightful experience into the cultural value of tea, highlighting both traditional elements and contemporary brewing trends.

The program will feature two distinguished guest speakers Mr. Nguyen Le Uyen Vien – Tea culture researcher, tea ware collector, journalist, and co-founder of the “Let’s Drink Tea” community, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan – Founder of Song Hy Tea and a recognized artisan in the Vietnamese traditional tea industry.
A passionate tea enthusiast, Mr. Nguyen Le Uyen Vien is not only a researcher but also a dedicated collector of traditional tea wares. Through his work and the founding of “Let’s Drink Tea,” he has connected tea lovers across the country, playing a key role in preserving and promoting Vietnam’s tea heritage. His efforts have earned him wide recognition as a leading voice in the cultural preservation of tea in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, founder of the high-end Song Hy Tea brand, has made significant contributions to the Vietnamese tea industry over the past two decades. Drawing from famous tea-growing regions such as Moc Chau and Thai Nguyen, he has elevated the reputation of Vietnamese tea, helping it reach international markets. His work not only showcases the quality of Vietnamese tea but also inspires appreciation for the refined art of tea enjoyment.

As part of the event, students will participate in the Talkshow “Traditional and Modern Tea Products,” where the speakers will explore three main topics: the origins of traditional tea in Vietnam, an overview of modern tea practices, and ways to preserve and promote both traditional and modern tea in today’s context.
In addition, the Workshop “The Art of Modern and Traditional Tea Brewing” will offer students a hands-on opportunity to recognize and prepare different types of tea, guided by experts from Phuc Long Heritage Joint Stock Company.
