HUTECH organizes the 2020 category transfer exam for lecturers

On September 11, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the 2020 category transfer exam for 18 assistant lecturers from several Faculties, Institutes, and Centers. 

The lecturers participating in this year’s exam comes from the following faculties and institutes, including Faculty of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Architecture and Arts, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Information Systems, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Finance and Commerce, Institute of International Education, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Engineering and Center for Political and Defense Education.

The Assessment Council for the 2020 category transfer exam for lecturers included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang Viet - Vice President, Ms. Vo Quang Ngoc Dung - Deputy Head of the Office of Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung - Dean of Faculty of Finance and Commerce, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu - Dean of Faculty of English. The Council also had the participation of leaders of Faculties/Institutes having candidates taking part in this year’s category transfer exam.

The exam included a teaching session and review along with situation questions related to the lectures, higher education and academic policies, professional and teaching ethics regulations, and current Higher Education Law.

Q&A session with the Assessment Council
 
Previously, on August 22, these candidates had successfully passed the General Knowledge Test in the form of multiple-choice with 50 questions in 60 minutes and required a minimum score of 5.0 points (points according to 1717/QD-DKC transfer exam regulation). In addition, to be able to participate in the category transfer exam, the assistant lecturers must have been teaching at HUTECH for at least 18 consecutive months for undergraduate programs and at least 12 consecutive months for Master’s degree programs. Besides, qualified candidates also need to receive a recommendation from their faculty leaders in terms of their performance and completion of teaching and department-related tasks during their teaching assistantship period. They also need to hold a Certificate of Pedagogical Training for University and College Lecturers and attain a grade B or higher in the most recent annual performance review.

In the afternoon of the same day, the exam continues with the review of the Assessment Council consisting of leaders of the University and relevant Faculties and Institutes
 
The category transfer exam is an opportunity for HUTECH to select qualified lecturers with capable subject knowledge and good morals to complement the teaching staff of the University.
