HUTECH reinforces global engagement at APAIE 2026 with 70 international institutions

Meeting and exploring cooperation opportunities with 70 partners from 18 countries and territories, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) continues to affirm its position and reputation on the global education map at APAIE 2026.
 
Participating in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition 2026 held in Hong Kong, HUTECH achieved many concrete and practical outcomes. Notably, the University worked with 70 educational institutions and international organizations from 18 countries and territories, including France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Türkiye, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. Through bilateral meetings, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bennett University in India and is expected to sign MoUs with approximately 20 other universities in the near future.

The University worked with 70 educational institutions and international organizations
 
In the coming period, the University will sign Erasmus Agreements with 10 institutions under the Erasmus 171+ framework, creating favorable conditions for students and faculty members to participate in academic and research exchanges in Europe. HUTECH also held in-depth discussions on expanding cooperation with existing partners such as the University of Auckland, Central Queensland University, CY Cergy Paris Université, Multimedia Nusantara University, and Thammasat University to further develop joint degree pathways and broaden areas of collaboration.
 
Beyond formal agreements, HUTECH actively promoted its image and brand to the international academic community while gaining valuable experience in curriculum development and the organization of student and faculty exchanges from partner institutions. These outcomes provide an important foundation for the effective implementation of cooperation initiatives in the coming years.

Together with Vietnamese universities, HUTECH actively promoted the image of Vietnam to the world
 
Within the framework of the conference, HUTECH carried out several key activities. Working sessions focused on exploring and learning about higher education policies and development strategies in different countries while introducing Vietnam’s higher education system to international partners in order to enhance visibility, attract international students, and expand opportunities for faculty and student exchanges.
 
Academic development was given special attention, with a focus on building articulation pathways such as 2+2 and 3+1 models as well as full degree programs delivered in Vietnam under the 4+0 model. In addition, co teaching between HUTECH faculty and partner lecturers, along with the co organization of workshops and seminars in onsite, online, and hybrid formats, was widely discussed.
 
Faculty and student mobility remained a key highlight, with plans to implement semester exchanges, short term programs, industry internships, and participation in research groups. The University also proactively sought international funding sources such as Erasmus+, DAAD, the New Colombo Plan, and Australia Fellowship Awards to provide financial support for students and faculty members. At the same time, research collaboration was strengthened through exchanges of information about academic staff, proposals for joint research projects, and coordination in organizing international conferences.

Building on the results achieved at APAIE 2026, HUTECH has developed a concrete implementation plan for the next phase. The University will finalize and expand cooperation agreements with reputable partners. In particular, with strategic partners such as the University of Auckland, Central Queensland University, CY Cergy Paris Université, and Multimedia Nusantara University, further discussions will focus on strengthening 2+2, 3+1, and 4+0 models while expanding into new academic disciplines aligned with development needs.

The conference created valuable opportunities for HUTECH to advance further on the global higher education map
 
In addition, HUTECH will develop a comprehensive information package to provide detailed guidance for international students participating in semester exchange and internship programs, while expanding its enterprise network to enhance internship opportunities for international students in Vietnam. This is considered a strategic step toward improving academic quality in line with global integration, increasing competitiveness, and reinforcing the University’s position in the international higher education landscape.
