From February 23 to 27, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) participated in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition 2026, organized by the Asia Pacific Association for International Education in Hong Kong. The event took place as part of the official mission of the Vietnamese Education Delegation led by the Ministry of Education and Training.
HUTECH was proud to be one of 17 Vietnamese higher education institutions represented at APAIE 2026. The conference is recognized as one of the four largest international education events in the world, alongside the Association of International Educators, the European Association for International Education, and the Australian International Education Conference.

APAIE 2026 brought together approximately 2,500 delegates from more than 65 countries and territories. During the event, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President, and Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, represented the University in active meetings and discussions with international partners, reaffirming HUTECH’s proactive role in its internationalization strategy.

The University engaged with numerous partners from the United States, Germany, France, New Zealand, Thailand, and other countries across the Asia-Pacific region and Europe, including University of California, Santa Barbara; University of Auckland; Hamburg University of Technology; Emlyon Business School; and Thammasat Business School.
Discussions focused on introducing HUTECH’s academic offerings, research directions, and key strengths, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnamese education at international forums. The meetings also aimed to strengthen connections, promote strategic partnerships, and explore opportunities for student and faculty exchanges as well as collaborative international academic projects.

HUTECH’s presence at APAIE 2026 once again affirmed its commitment to sustainable development aligned with international standards, demonstrating its determination to deepen global integration and continuously enhance the quality of education and research in the context of globalized higher education.
Notably, 2026 marked the first time Vietnam organized a Vietnam Pavilion at the event. According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director General of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnamese higher education institutions had previously participated individually. In 2026, Vietnam joined as a unified national delegation with a shared pavilion to showcase its higher education system.

The organization of the Vietnam Pavilion represents a concrete step in implementing national policies on comprehensive education reform, international integration in the new context, and breakthrough development in education and training, in alignment with the Government-approved project on international integration in education and training through 2030.

The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education was established in 2004 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, by 13 founding universities in the region. The first APAIE Conference and Exhibition was held in 2006 in Seoul and has since become an annual event hosted on a rotating basis by member countries and territories.
APAIE 2026 took place over five days, featuring parallel Conference and Exhibition activities, including plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, and global dialogue forums. The event also hosted hundreds of exhibition booths from universities and educational organizations worldwide, creating opportunities for partnership building, agreement signing, and national brand promotion in the field of education.
