Advancing the internationalization of education, HUTECH partners with ICAEW to bring global training standards to students

As part of its education internationalization strategy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), and the Representative Office of ICAEW Malaysia Limited in Ho Chi Minh City officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding and held a thematic seminar on January 22. The event reaffirmed HUTECH’s commitment to international integration and to enhancing training quality in line with global standards.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice President of HUTECH, noted that Vietnam is currently among the countries with the fastest pace of digital transformation in the region, leading to a growing demand for high quality human resources. From this context, he emphasized that expanding international cooperation is a necessary pathway to help students proactively adapt to the evolving requirements of the labor market.

To put this orientation into practice, HUTECH officially signed an MoU with ICAEW. The MoU focuses on implementing professional training activities, sharing learning resources, study visits and internships, and strengthening industry connections, with the aim of creating more structured and sustainable career development opportunities for students.

Building on this newly established partnership, the program continued with the seminar titled “Accounting and auditing in the real world, more than just numbers,” offering students a clear and engaging perspective on the profession. At the seminar, Ms. Le Bich Tran, Director of T.A.D, an ICAEW authorized training provider, chose to use a training film as a learning tool, enabling students to directly engage with real world professional scenarios.

The film “Without question” clarified the role of a Chartered Accountant, an internationally recognized professional designation that requires not only strong technical expertise but also a high level of professional ethics, professional skepticism, and the responsibility to question information. Through concrete business contexts, the film helped students gain a deeper understanding of the impact of financial decisions on business operations, while also delivering a dynamic learning experience aligned with current trends in practice-oriented and technology-driven education.
