On March 17, HUTECH met, held discussions, and officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sunway University, marking a new step forward in enhancing cross border academic experiences.

This event not only strengthened the longstanding relationship between the two institutions but also marked a strategic move in HUTECH’s internationalization journey. During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on their academic systems, key strengths, and future development directions. Based on their shared vision for modern education, HUTECH and Sunway University agreed to implement several key initiatives, opening up new development opportunities for both faculty and students.

Accordingly, both universities will promote student exchange initiatives, providing learners with opportunities to participate in study programs, short term exchanges, and international experiences in Malaysia. At the same time, faculty exchange will also be prioritized to facilitate the sharing of expertise, teaching experience, and university governance practices.
In the fields of science and technology, the two institutions committed to co-organizing academic forums and conferences, as well as developing joint research projects. These efforts aim to increase international publications while strengthening the academic standing of both institutions on the regional education map.

Notably, representatives from HUTECH expressed strong interest in advanced education models at Sunway University, particularly the 42 Kuala Lumpur model, a peer-to-peer programming approach that emphasizes autonomy and hands on practice. During the meeting, HUTECH also expressed its intention to visit and work with Sunway University in the near future to further explore its integrated education and industry ecosystem.
