As global boundaries become increasingly interconnected, international learning and collaboration play an important role in preparing young people for active participation in a globalized environment.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), students can engage with diverse cultures and academic perspectives directly on campus through meetings and exchange activities with international university delegations, including the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, Paris-Saclay University in France, Aarhus University in Denmark, Hosei University in Japan, Tongmyong University in the Republic of Korea, among others.
Engaging with international students creates opportunities to connect with friends from around the world
Campus festivals not only bring together cultures from across continents but also serve as a warm welcome from HUTECH students to international friends. Through these activities, young people broaden their global perspectives and step into the role of citizens of different countries by experiencing local cuisine booths, traditional games, artistic performances, and showcases of traditional costumes.
Impressive in scale and attracting large numbers of participants, events such as the HUTECH Global Festival, the Korean Cultural Festival, and the Japanese Cultural Festival - VJIT Matsuri have become global cultural meeting points. These events create opportunities for students to connect, build strong relationships, and become effective collaborators in the future.

Alongside cultural experiences, students also team up with peers from around the world to conduct scientific research, pursue academic aspirations, and gradually develop the skills needed to work in an international environment. Notably, many student-led collaborative projects have produced practical solutions that help spread positive social values within the community.
Innovations such as the Kykyfresh toxic gas deodorizing device and the Sanding SLAB paint sanding support tool are the outcomes of collaboration between HUTECH students and students from Singapore Polytechnic through the second Learning Express international community project. During implementation, the teams visited traditional craft villages in Vietnam to study real world contexts, develop ideas, and design solutions aimed at improving work efficiency and enhancing artisans’ working environments.

Welcoming international delegations is only the beginning of a broader journey of global connection. HUTECH students also step beyond their comfort zones, confidently expressing themselves through exchange semesters abroad. From Malaysia, China, the Republic of Korea, France, Japan, and Thailand, the footprints of young learners mark a journey of knowledge acquisition and personal growth, as they assert themselves in large-scale projects and international academic arenas.

For example, students from the Faculty of Marketing and International Business had the opportunity to visit and engage with Thammasat Business School in Thailand. During the trip, they directly surveyed the retail ecosystem in Bangkok, observed how businesses position their brands, and assessed the economic potential of the local market and the ASEAN region as a whole.
Today’s classrooms are the starting point for a journey of global integration, creating conditions for the younger generation to accumulate knowledge, broaden perspectives, and confidently step out into the world.
