Recently, as part of a working visit to Indonesia, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a meeting with Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), opening up practical directions for collaboration in student exchange, international internships, research, and the organization of international scientific conferences.
The meeting continued earlier discussions between the two institutions, demonstrating a shared commitment to building a sustainable partnership aimed at delivering long term benefits for students and faculty members of both sides.
Dr. Ly Thien Trang represented HUTECH at the meeting with Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN)
During the meeting, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of the University, presented an overview of the HUTECH Education System. She highlighted the University’s multidisciplinary strengths, with a scale of nearly 40,000 students, particularly in engineering, technology, and business. In addition, many of the University’s academic offerings have achieved international accreditation, affirming the quality of education aligned with global standards and meeting workforce demands in an increasingly integrated world.
Based on the discussion, both parties agreed to launch a pilot international internship program for UMN students at HUTECH, supported by HUTECH’s network of nearly 5,000 partner enterprises. The program is expected to provide international students with valuable hands-on experience in real working environments, particularly in fields such as information technology and hospitality and tourism services.
The two institutions reached strong consensus on several aspects of education and scientific research
In addition, HUTECH proposed inviting UMN to co-organize an international scientific conference scheduled for November in collaboration with Tongmyong University from South Korea. UMN was also invited to participate in student exchange activities and academic events organized by HUTECH, including the upcoming 2nd International Cultural Exchange Programme titled “Sustainable Tourism 2026: Change in Action!” which is expected to take place from March to May 2026.
In the area of research, the two universities agreed to strengthen connections between research groups, particularly in Civil Engineering and Automotive Engineering, with the aim of enhancing academic quality in their respective areas of strength.
