Another PhD candidate completed the Business Administration dissertation defense at the university-level

On April 29, the Institute of Postgraduate Studies of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), organized the Dissertation Defense for Ms. Le Thi Thanh Loan - a PhD candidate in Business Administration.
The Dissertation Committee consists of leading experts from reputable universities in Vietnam, including Foreign Trade University, Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh University of Transport, and HUTECH.

With the dissertation topic titled “Financial management and autonomy model of management staff training institutions under Central Ministries and Departments located in Ho Chi Minh City”, the thesis is co-advised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Viet and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quyet Thang.

PhD candidate Le Thi Thanh Loan has conducted an overview of the theoretical basis and current financial management of management staff training institutions, the influencing factors and their degree of influence on these institutions’ financial management. Furthermore, the research also makes recommendations and solutions to improve the efficiency of the management system.

Members of the Dissertation Committee
Supporting by well-founded arguments, PhD student Le Thi Thanh Loan pointed out research gaps in the existing financial reporting system, including practical issues, benefits, factors affecting financial management. Through the research, several contributions have been made to the theoretical basis including the development of a research model showing the relationships between the factors affecting financial management and reporting under the autonomy operating model of Ministry and Central Department-affiliated training institutions. In terms of the practical value of the dissertation, the research has successfully measured the impact of these factors on the financial management systems of these institutions.

Besides the limitations on subjects of the research survey, presentation formats, etc., the Dissertation Committee provided good reviews of the financial management survey data with detailed and reliable scales of measurement. The PhD candidate also received valuable feedback from the Committee on potential improvements and future directions for her research topic.
