More than 413 research papers contributed to HUTECH Student Research Conference 2020

On October 17, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized the 2020 Student Research Conference with over 413 research projects from nearly 1,200 students of various faculties and institutes within the University.
 
The Conference welcomed the participation of HUTECH leaders including members of the Board of Presidents and heads of several faculties and institutes along with many students who share the same passion for research.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the role of research as an integral part of the study process of students. Through engaging in research, students would become more creative and motivated in their journey of scientific exploration and self-study. HUTECH Student Research Conference has also provided a valuable academic venue for identifying young research talents and potential inventions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam encourages students to actively participate in research, since besides consolidating knowledge, in the process of writing a research paper, it will also help students to uphold research integrity, improve analytical skills and critical thinking, as well as soft skills such as teamwork, presentation, etc.
 
The 413 research papers across various disciplines that are contributed to this year’s Student Research Conference are testaments to the efforts of nearly 1,200 students through many trials and errors during the research and experimental process.

Among the student research submitted to this year’s conference, nine outstanding projects were selected to be presented at the plenary session of the conference. These projects have received high reviews from experts as well as feedback and potential directions to further improve the research outcomes. These nine projects are as follows:
  • Load forecast for main servers (Faculty Information Technology)
  • Design and manufacture motorbike running on PHEV engines (HUTECH Institute of Engineering)
  • Research and design intelligent vehicle door opening warning system (Vietnam - Japan Institute of Technology)
  • Evaluate the ability of plants to repel American cockroaches (Periplaneta americana) and their application in creating cockroach repellent products (HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences)
  • Research on formulating in situ gel containing floating forms of ranitidine hydrochloride in stomach (Faculty of Pharmacy)
  • Research on the use of debris mortar in construction (Faculty of Civil Engineering)
  • Applying a balanced scorecard to evaluate the performance of non-public universities in Ho Chi Minh City (Faculty of Finance and Commerce)
  • ECO-FASHION trend and customer behaviors of Gen Z in Ho Chi Minh City (Faculty of Business Administration)
  • Semantic role labeling in imperative sentences in Japanese (Faculty of Japanese Studies)
