Two HUTECH students' designs of Hoa Mai Furniture Design Competition 2011

Hoa Mai Furniture Design Competition 2011 - the competition held by HAWA (Handicraft And Wood Industry Association) every Spring since 2002. Hoa Mai means apricot blossom, typical spring flowers in Vietnam.
Jury board selected Tran Xuan Duc ( Hutech ) designs to the final round. This is the second time he comes to the final round
Nuturing Vietnamese design talent has also been the aim of the Hoa Mai award as well as HAWA. Looking further back, it is already possible to see some winners of previous competition coming through in their own right, having been nurtured in the past and now developing their own talent.
Two HUTECH students' designs were selected in the final round of Hoa Mai competition.
Design set for plough shape furniture - Hutech students Tran Xuan Duc
Tran Xuan Duc – student of class 08/DNT2 with production “plough” and a students team including Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Thien Thanh from Industrial Art majoring in Interior Design from Industrial Art faculty with production " H8" reflecting their creation, pragmatism. Hutech students honored to be selected to the final round.

Many companies will support the shortlisted entries by providing materials , help with prototypes ( from 09/01/2012 to 06/03/2012) and through a short -listing process eight were later awarded various prizes and merits. The successful entries will be displayed on a central exhibition stand at Saigon furniture show and featured in a dedicated publication about the competition.
In fact, there are three consecutive Hoa Mai competitions (2009, 2010, 2011) , in which the young talented Hutech designers represented in the final round .
