HUTECH 2024: A journey of breakthroughs on the global education map

As 2024 comes to an end, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) looks back on a year filled with innovation and groundbreaking progress. These efforts have solidified its status as a prestigious educational institution on both regional and global levels.
Achieving prominent positions in prestigious global university rankings
For consecutive years, HUTECH has earned recognition in respected international university rankings. This year, it continued its remarkable streak with significant achievements. The university ranked 8th among 23 Vietnamese universities with outstanding academic performance on the URAP global ranking. HUTECH also secured 3rd place among 45 Vietnamese universities and research institutes for research capacity on the SCImago ranking. Additionally, it was listed among the top 2,250 universities worldwide and ranked 413th globally in the field of Engineering in the 2024-2025 US News & World Best Global Universities Rankings. In the Webometrics rankings (July 2024 evaluation), HUTECH placed 12th among 190 Vietnamese universities, 667th in Asia, and 2,230th globally.

Four undergraduate programs accredited by AUN-QA, highlighting outstanding quality
Over the years, HUTECH has consistently enhanced its quality assurance practices, including rigorous accreditation processes. In addition to domestic accreditation, the university prioritizes achieving international standards.
In 2024, HUTECH successfully completed AUN-QA accreditation for four undergraduate programs: Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, and Multimedia Communications. These programs received highly positive feedback from evaluators, increasing the total number of AUN-QA accredited programs at HUTECH to ten.

Expanding partnerships with leading universities, businesses, and organizations worldwide
HUTECH continues to strengthen its bilateral partnerships with prestigious universities, businesses, and organizations worldwide. Notably, the university became the 9th Vietnamese institution to join the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). This milestone aligns with the QS Stars Rating Methodology 6.0 for “Membership in the Sustainable Development Network.” Joining SDSN allows HUTECH to participate in a global community focused on advancing sustainable education and societal development.

The university’s collaboration network has grown significantly, with agreements established with partners such as Sigma University (India), Central Queensland University (Australia), The Cyber University of Korea (South Korea), China Medical University (Taiwan), Ming Chuan University (Taiwan), Khon Kaen University (Thailand), Udon Thani Rajabhat University (Thailand), National Geographic Learning - Cengage (USA), Hanyoung Scholarship Foundation (South Korea), Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM), Korea E-Commerce Council in Vietnam (KECC), Nakajima Seisakusho (Japan), and Toa Kogyo (Japan), among others.
