Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) continues to make its mark, securing 11th place among Vietnam’s top universities in the January 2025 Webometrics rankings, as announced by the Spanish research group Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
According to the latest results, HUTECH ranks 11th among 124 Vietnamese universities and 2302nd among 31,364 universities worldwide, placing it in the top 10% of ranked institutions. This achievement highlights the university’s continuous efforts to enhance education quality, advance scientific research, and expand global recognition.
HUTECH ranks 11th among 124 Vietnamese universities and 2302nd worldwide
Webometrics assesses universities based on their digital presence and academic resource dissemination, using three key criteria: Visibility (50%)—measuring website impact, Transparency/Openness (10%)—evaluating the number of academic citations on Google Scholar, and Excellence (40%)—based on the number of highly cited research papers on Scimago/Scopus.
This year, Webometrics has adjusted its ranking criteria, particularly in citation sources and the number of cited authors within the Transparency/Openness category. Despite these changes, HUTECH’s strong ranking reflects its adaptability and commitment to academic excellence.
This achievement further extends HUTECH's previous successes in prestigious global rankings
This accomplishment reinforces HUTECH’s previous achievements in international university rankings. In 2024, the university ranked 8th among 23 Vietnamese institutions in the URAP rankings and 3rd among 45 Vietnamese universities and research institutes in the SCImago rankings.
These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication and unwavering efforts of HUTECH’s leadership, faculty, staff, researchers, and students. The university continues to invest in modern infrastructure, enhance teaching quality, innovate academic programs, and drive scientific research. Additionally, HUTECH actively contributes to the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, furthering its impact on society.
