In today’s globalized world, cultural exchange plays a key role in promoting mutual understanding and educational cooperation. On July 24, the Department of International Relations and Project Management, in collaboration with the Institute of Culture, Arts, and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), brought students to participate in “The 1st ICE - International Cultural Exchange” under the theme “Exchange Vibes 2025: Culture Connect!”, initiated and hosted by Politeknik Piksi Ganesha (Indonesia).
HUTECH participates in “The 1st ICE - International Cultural Exchange”
The program welcomed 11 educational institutions from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. It aimed to create an international platform for cultural exchange, fostering mutual appreciation and understanding among students and lecturers from diverse backgrounds. Through creative art performances, the program encouraged participants to express their national identities, develop intercultural competence, and build international friendships. It also contributed to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education, inclusion, peacebuilding, and global collaboration.
Dr. Ly Thien Trang delivers remarks at the event
In her opening remarks, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of HUTECH, shared: “Internationalization is one of HUTECH’s key strategies for development. We are committed to providing our students and faculty with meaningful opportunities for global exchange, thereby fostering cultural understanding, academic collaboration, and mutual respect. Participation in international events like the 1st ICE not only allows HUTECH to showcase the richness of Vietnamese cultural heritage but also opens the door to learning from the diversity and creativity of global peers.”
Performance "Co Doi Thuong Ngan"
Performance "Tinh Ca Tay Bac"
As the only representative from Vietnam, HUTECH participated with two standout performances by lecturers and students from the Institute of Culture, Arts, and Sports. The first was “Co Doi Thuong Ngan” (a traditional Chau Van folk music performance) by the student group, and the second was “Tinh Ca Tay Bac” (composed by Bui Duc Hanh), performed by lecturer Vu Quynh Nhu Anh and a group of students. Both performances were meticulously prepared in terms of choreography and costumes, showcasing national spirit through a combination of traditional performance styles and modern presentation, well-suited for the international exchange setting.
After all 22 performances from the participating countries concluded, the organizers announced the final results. HUTECH proudly received six major awards at the competition. Details as follows:
