HUTECH welcomes SACA delegation to strengthen business cooperation in Architecture and Construction

On November 7, the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with the delegation from the Saigon Construction and Building Materials Association (SACA).
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the university and the association in training, research, and knowledge transfer, connecting academic study with practical application, and developing high-quality human resources for the field of Architecture and Construction.
SACA Association visits facilities and student projects of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Ngo Hoai Duc, Vice President and General Secretary of the Association, and General Director of Kosih Co., Ltd., gave an overview of the formation and activities of the Saigon Construction and Building Materials Association. He emphasized the role of SACA in connecting businesses in the industry, promoting technological innovation, developing human resources, and expanding cooperation networks with educational institutions.
In-depth discussion between HUTECH and SACA Association
Representing HUTECH, Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quyen, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, introduced the development of the faculty, its training orientation linked to practical application, and effective business cooperation programs already implemented. Meanwhile, Dr. Tran Tuan Nam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, shared the faculty’s strengths, including a team of lecturers with extensive practical experience and modern laboratories supporting research and teaching, such as the Geotechnical and Building Materials Testing Center and the Soil Mechanics and Engineering Geology Laboratory.
In the main discussion, representatives from both sides focused on practical cooperation topics between HUTECH and SACA, including internships, career orientation, professional skill development, and technology transfer. Mr. Ngô Hoài Đức affirmed that SACA is always ready to accompany HUTECH in helping students gain access to real-world professional experiences. He added that the association will assign experts as mentors to guide and share experiences, as well as award scholarships to outstanding students.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quyen emphasized the university’s policy of “training linked with practice, creative entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.” She stated that this working session marks an important first step in building a strong connection between academia and business.
HUTECH representatives also suggested setting up clear ways to cooperate, including internship programs linked to real projects, organizing hands-on workshops, co-hosting the “Green Architecture - Creative Entrepreneurship” contest, supporting student projects, and joining business networking events so that students can gain practical experience and earn scholarships from companies.

At the same time, HUTECH expressed readiness to share academic resources, facilities, and laboratory systems to support research, material testing, and design activities of businesses within SACA. The university also proposed cooperation in organizing conferences, exhibitions, and thematic seminars, enabling businesses to promote their brands while connecting with potential human resources.

Dr. Tran Tuan Nam highly valued the cooperation potential between the two sides, especially in developing internship and specialized training programs and organizing technical seminars with the participation of leading experts. He noted that SACA’s involvement will help students gain access to construction management processes, new material technologies, and professional standards currently applied in enterprises. At the same time, the Faculty of Civil Engineering is ready to collaborate with the association in specialized training programs, applied research, and professional skill development for students, aiming to improve the quality of future engineers.

At the conclusion of the session, Architect Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Advisor to the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, summarized and emphasized the key cooperation directions between the two sides. These include implementing internship models linked to real projects, organizing business workshops, promoting student entrepreneurship programs, co-hosting the annual HUTECH TECHSHOW - Technology Exhibition and Recruitment Fair for Engineering and Technology, and cooperating in research and testing of new materials. These directions are expected to become a sustainable foundation for cooperation, enabling universities and businesses to jointly create a learning environment closely connected to practice, helping students develop professional competencies.
