With a focus on expanding its international network and creating more learning opportunities for students, the Faculty of Korean Studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially established a partnership with Kangwon National University through a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony held on November 29.

During the introduction, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, presented an overview of the university’s training ecosystem. She highlighted the quality of its academic programs, the language proficiency and career skills students gain, and shared recent and ongoing student exchange activities.

Representatives from Kangwon National University introduced their academic strengths, internationalization strategies, and enrollment plans aimed at attracting more international students. The two sides also discussed preliminary ideas for student exchange participation, as well as information on tuition fees, living expenses, and related forms of support. This ensures transparency and helps create favorable conditions for students.
During the meeting, Mr. Lee Bum Soo, Executive Director of the Kangwon Cultural Institute in Southern Vietnam, proposed implementing 2+2 and 3+1 joint training models. He also expressed his desire to continue working with HUTECH to develop cooperative initiatives that reflect the strengths of both sides.

From the perspective of academic development, Dr. Bui Phan Anh Thu, Dean of the Faculty of Korean Studies, suggested that Kangwon National University consider offering short-term programs such as summer semesters, cultural semesters, or themed experiential courses with affordable costs. These initiatives would give students opportunities to directly experience Korean education and culture.

In addition, Mr. Kim Tae Wan, Manager of the Global Talent System Center, shared information on programs available to Vietnamese students along with related academic policies. His insights aim to promote practical, effective, and sustainable collaboration between the two universities.
