STSP 2025 kicks off as HUTECH and JGU promote experiential learning and Vietnam–India cultural exchange

Student exchange has become one of the top priorities for universities, offering learners the opportunity to study in an international environment and broaden their cultural perspectives.

To support this goal, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the Opening Ceremony of the Short-Term Study Programme 2025 (STSP), welcoming 30 students from O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU, India) on the morning of December 3. The program is themed “Discover Vietnam: Cultural and Creative Immersion through Art, Design and Media.”

The program is designed to help JGU students explore Vietnam through art, design and media while learning about local culture and the professional environment in Ho Chi Minh City over the course of three weeks. During this time, students will participate in a variety of activities including academic sessions, skill workshops, cultural exchange events and company visits. These activities offer a comprehensive and dynamic introduction to life in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of HUTECH, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the visiting students. He emphasized that HUTECH is committed to experiential learning, where education extends beyond the classroom and into real-world environments.

A representative from O. P. Jindal Global University shared that the program was developed based on the principle of learning through experience, as knowledge becomes more meaningful when students can observe, engage and connect directly with the local culture. For this reason, STSP 2025 is structured around a wide range of hands-on activities that enable students to encounter Vietnam from diverse and authentic perspectives.

Each group will choose a topic related to Vietnamese culture and complete a presentation and a short video based on their own experiences. This project allows students to apply their creativity, storytelling abilities and media skills, while demonstrating their understanding of Vietnam through firsthand learning. The final products will be assessed based on relevance to the topic, presentation quality and teamwork.
