HUTECH students: From campus learning to global experience

From the classroom to global integration, students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) are being given opportunities to connect with the world and build career advantages from their early university years.
As international integration becomes an inevitable trend in the global labor market, early exposure to a globally oriented learning and working environment offers a significant advantage for students. At HUTECH, international integration goes beyond strategic orientation and is translated into a wide range of academic, exchange, and international internship opportunities, which are regularly implemented across most academic disciplines.
Short-term exchange and study programs have become a suitable option for many students. Although lasting only a few weeks or up to one semester, these programs are carefully designed to align with learning objectives and skill development goals. Exchange study trips to institutions such as Tongmyong University in the Republic of Korea, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak in Malaysia, Thammasat Business School in Thailand, and Southern Leyte State University in the Philippines have provided students with opportunities to experience modern, international-standard educational environments. In these settings, students not only pursue academic learning but also connect and engage with local peers. Living and studying in a multicultural academic environment helps students strengthen their foreign language skills, gain confidence in communication, develop a proactive learning mindset, and expand their social networks on a global scale.

Short-term exchange and study programs have become a suitable choice for many students
In addition to academic exchange programs, international summer camps such as the China-ASEAN Summer Camp and the Bridge to Keimyung Camp are organized to combine academic learning, field experiences, and multicultural exchange. Each activity offers meaningful opportunities for students to gain deeper insights into people and cultures around the world.
International summer camps help students learn and connect more easily with peers worldwide
Alongside in-person formats, HUTECH also implements online academic exchange and virtual interaction programs with international partners. These initiatives allow students to broaden their global academic exposure in a flexible manner, aligning with the learning habits and lifestyles of the younger generation.
Along with academic exchanges, international internships are regarded as a significant step forward, shifting the focus from knowledge acquisition to hands-on experience. Recognizing this importance, HUTECH provides comprehensive support for students, from foreign language training and academic documentation assistance to professional guidance and academic procedures. This support lays a solid foundation for students to enter international working environments with greater confidence.
HUTECH supports students throughout their international learning journey
A notable example is Ly Quoc Bao, the first HUTECH student majoring in Veterinary Medicine to participate in an internship program in Denmark. During 18 months of work at a modern livestock farm, Bao was directly involved in animal care, health monitoring, and exposure to advanced agricultural operations. The combination of vocational training, professional work experience, and stable income has provided him with valuable advantages for his future career path.
Similarly, at the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT), international internships have long been an integral part of student training. Over periods ranging from three to twelve months, students are officially employed and receive attractive salaries at major and reputable enterprises in Japan, including Musashino Foods Group, Itoen Hotels Group, TOA Kogyo, Askul Logist, Yamagata Kanko Service Co., Ltd., and Toyota Mobility Shiga Joint Stock Company.
International internship programs offer young people real-world professional exposure
From these journeys of international integration, it is evident that overseas study and international internships are no longer distant aspirations. With the University’s support combined with students’ own efforts, these opportunities are entirely attainable. After each journey, what HUTECH students bring back is not merely certificates or a collection of photos, but greater confidence in stepping into new environments, a clearer self-awareness, and a readiness to embrace the professional paths ahead.
