On April 21, the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Material Association (SACA), aiming to strengthen connections, expand collaboration in education, and promote stronger alignment with professional practice for students in architecture, interior design, and construction.

At the meeting, SACA representatives provided an overview of the association, which includes more than 1,000 member enterprises operating across six sectors, ranging from real estate and construction contracting to materials manufacturing, consulting, trade, and supporting services. The association also operates six specialized committees to support member development, business growth, international cooperation, and sustainable initiatives.

In addition to its diverse membership network, SACA organizes various annual activities such as SACA Connect, exhibitions, sustainable development forums, and member visits, contributing to strong cohesion within the construction community.
On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the association also invited HUTECH to participate in a series of events, including industry seminars, exhibitions, and the “SACA Achievements” photo contest. This presents an opportunity for the University to expand engagement and help students gain closer exposure to real industry dynamics.

One notable proposal from SACA was the development of a materials showroom on campus. Leveraging the extensive resources of its member network, this model is expected to provide students with direct access to real world materials within the learning environment. HUTECH highly appreciated the practicality of this proposal, as its implementation would create an effective space to support learning, research, and student projects, while also serving as a valuable highlight in the University’s communication and industry engagement activities.
