HUTECH welcomes the President of Southern Leyte State University, strengthening international partnership ties

Building on the achievements of their ongoing collaboration, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU, Philippines) recently held a working session to review the outcomes of their partnership initiatives and discuss future directions for cooperation.
During the meeting, representatives from both institutions reflected on the key milestones achieved since the signing of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in December 2024. Over the past year, HUTECH and SLSU have carried out a range of academic exchange, cultural engagement, and knowledge sharing activities. Among the most notable initiatives were collaborative programs between HUTECH's Faculty of Marketing and International Business and SLSU's academic units.

At the meeting, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of HUTECH, expressed her appreciation to Dr. Jude A. Duarte and Southern Leyte State University for their strong commitment and active collaboration in implementing joint initiatives. She also highlighted the meaningful benefits these activities have brought to students and faculty members, particularly in enhancing global competencies and broadening multicultural learning experiences.

One of the most significant highlights of the partnership was the "Academic Exchange and Cultural Immersion Program: HUTECH and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)," which took place from May 11 to 18, 2026. The program provided students from both universities with opportunities to participate in academic activities, cultural exchanges, and experiential learning experiences. Through these activities, students gained deeper insights into each country's educational environment, culture, and way of life while developing essential skills for an increasingly interconnected world.
Building on these achievements, the two universities discussed several priorities for the next phase of collaboration. Key areas of focus include expanding student and faculty exchange opportunities, jointly organizing international conferences and academic seminars, promoting collaborative research among academic units, and developing experiential learning programs and internship opportunities connected to real world professional practice.
