On May 14, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HUTECH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Qingdao Huanghai University, marking a new milestone in the partnership between the two institutions following their first meeting on March 20.
This activity contributes to the expansion of HUTECH’s international partner network while laying the groundwork for future academic programs, research collaboration, and student exchange initiatives.
The partner delegation attending the meeting included Prof. Dr. Wang Pengcheng – Vice President, Dr. Tan Chunbo – Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Dr. Wu Xuefeng – Vice Dean of School of Language and Culture, Prof. Xu Xia - Assistant Dean of School of Smart City Engineering, Dr. Wang Kedong – Assistant Dean of School of Intelligent Manufacturing, Mr. Feng Qiqiang – Section Chief of International Exchange and Cooperation. Representing HUTECH were Dr. Ly Thien Trang – Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Director of the Institute of Engineering, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong – Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, and Assoc. Prof. Ha Minh Tuan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Based on their shared development orientation and educational models, HUTECH and Qingdao Huanghai University agreed to promote cooperation in various areas, including faculty and student exchange, joint projects, scientific research, and the organization of international academic conferences. These initiatives carry practical significance as universities increasingly prioritize global connectivity and seek to provide students with access to multicultural learning environments and international academic standards.
During the meeting, the two institutions also discussed cooperation in Chinese language education and the development of short-term exchange programs for students in Engineering, Technology, and Civil Engineering disciplines. Through exchange activities, short-term study opportunities, and academic interaction, students will be able to gain exposure to international approaches to education, research, and professional practice. These experiences will help strengthen classroom learning, improve adaptability, and better prepare students for the global workforce.
