Hospitality Management students explore luxury hotel work environments

During the Cultural Exchange Week between students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and CY Cergy Paris Université (CYU), students had the opportunity to visit two luxury hotels - Sedona Suites Ho Chi Minh and The Myst Dong Khoi Hotel. This experience allowed them to connect academic knowledge with practical professional practice.

At Sedona Suites Ho Chi Minh, students observed the reception area, guest lounge, and various types of
accommodations designed to international standards

The visit provided valuable insights into the organization of luxury hotels intended to enhance guest comfort,
along with a deeper understanding of service procedures and quality standards

The hotel representative presented an overview of Sedona Suites, including the guest arrival and check-in procedures,
room service operations, and guest retention strategies. This enabled students to visualize the meticulous attention to detail
and stringent operational standards, and to understand the importance of building sustainable relationships with customers

At The Myst Dong Khoi Hotel, students were introduced to the hotel’s design philosophy and service style, and how it establishes
a unique identity in a competitive market through spaces that blend Indochine architectural heritage with modern elements

Students enjoyed a traditional musical performance by artisans, gaining a deep appreciation of local cultural heritage.
They also toured a unique handicraft exhibition area to enhance further insight into how cultural
elements are woven into the guest experience

Students explored the reception area, corridors, and guest rooms with distinctive designs, along with premium facilities such
as the restaurant and swimming pool. They observed the spatial layout, service standards,and how the hotel crafts
a personalized stay experience for its guests

The hotel representative shared essential skills required in the service industry, from management and practical problem-solving
to career advancement opportunities. Clear career guidance was also provided to help students better understand
their personal development paths and current workforce trends in the context of global integration

 
The visits to Sedona Suites Ho Chi Minh and The Myst Dong Khoi Hotel not only offered valuable hands-on experience but also helped students enhance their professional skills and gain deeper insights into a practical professional environment. At the same time, the experience fostered cross-cultural connections among students and expanded their networking opportunities with industry professionals. These experiences serve as essential preparation for students to clarify their career paths and confidently enter the global job market.
