“Táo Xuân HUTECH 2024” - A Cultural Showcase Blending Tradition and Gen Z Creativity

In the joyful spirit of the year-end season, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted the event “Táo Xuân HUTECH 2024” (“HUTECH Spring Kitchen Gods 2024”), offering students meaningful experiences that combined the richness of traditional culture with the creativity and energy of Gen Z
The event offered moments rich in traditional cultural values, thoughtfully interwoven with the creative spirit of Gen Z
The event made a strong impression thanks to the meticulous planning and dedicated efforts of the students. The sound and lighting systems were professionally arranged, creating vivid and dynamic visual effects. The performers’ costumes and props were carefully designed - both aesthetically refined and thematically appropriate - highlighting the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Together, these elements contributed to a vibrant and emotionally resonant evening of artistic celebration.

The students independently managed every aspect of the event, from planning to execution
With the enthusiastic participation of students, “Táo Xuân HUTECH 2024” (“HUTECH Spring Kitchen Gods 2024”) kicked off on an energetic note with the performance of “All Day”, setting a joyful and festive Tet atmosphere for the entire event. Standout performances such as the skit “Đứa con xa nhà” (“The Child Far from Home”) and the songs “Tết Xa” (“Distant Tet”) and “Cơm đoàn viên” (“Family Reunion Meal”) left a strong impression, evoking warm emotions of familial love and family bonding.

The outstanding performances brought a wide range of emotions to the audience,
touching their hearts through powerful storytelling and expressive artistry
A standout highlight of the program was the segment “Chầu các Táo” (“Report to the Jade Emperor”), featuring creatively imagined and humorous characters - Táo TikTok, Táo GPT, and Táo Facebook - modern reinterpretations of the traditional Kitchen Gods. Prominent topics related to academics, technology, and student life were cleverly explored, striking a balance between entertainment and meaningful, practical life lessons.

Organizing “Táo Xuân HUTECH 2024” entirely on their own provided students with valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop essential professional skills. The memorable moments shared throughout the event not only reflected the strong bonds and seamless teamwork among participants, but also showcased the creativity, talent, and passion of HUTECH’s young generation.
